THE TEAM
Both in love with Mexico and passionate about it, Claire and Tristan decided to set up their own agency, creating excursions that combine sightseeing and sharing with travelers. An agency that takes the time to show you the real Mexico, its people, nature, history and gastronomy. An agency that adapts to your needs and desires. And, with this goal in mind, they have surrounded themselves with a professional team that will ensure you have an unforgettable time.
SAYAB TRIP
The word “SAYAB” is Maya and can be translated as an inexhaustible source. We chose this name because we know that The Yucatan Peninsula provides an inexhaustible source of inspiration!
An eco-responsible project
Our tours are eco-friendly in every way: we use reusable water bottles instead of plastic, we advocate the use of biodegradable sun creams and even better, UV protection rash guard instead of products. Our tours are also and above all ethical, with a large part of the profits going directly back to the villages and local communities we visit.
Conservation of wildlife and flora
We also launched a major conservation project in 2020, including a wildlife survey and count in a jungle area in the hope of transforming this zone into a private or nature reserve within a few years. These counts are carried out using strategically placed photographic traps.
CLAIRE ALIAS CLARITA
In 2000, Claire left her career in France, to pursue her dream of traveling. In Asia, she discovered her passion for scuba diving and obtained her instructor’s diploma. After visiting several countries, she settled in Playa del Carmen in 2003. The culture, history, flora and fauna of Mexico so fascinated her that she became an official tour guide. Trilingual and all-round, she enjoys constantly studying a wide variety of subjects, from culinary arts to Mayan epigraphy. Always ready for new adventures, whether in archaeological sites, in the sea or in the freshwater of the cenotes, she will share her knowledge with you and accompany you in a safe and fun way to discover the wonders of this megadiverse country. Her experience as a guide around the world and in different environments has given her the ability to adapt and “break the ice” quickly. Now a Mexican at heart, she’ll take you on a fun and enriching tour.
TRISTAN
After exploring Asia, Oceania and living in many countries, Tristan settled in Mexico in 2010. At first, it was his love and fascination for cenotes that led him to stay on in this marvellous country as a cave diver. Very soon, the study of the Mayan civilization and its secrets led him to become an archaeology guide. Always a nature lover, Tristan gradually specialized in jungle tours, where he could observe numerous species. Mixing cenote dives, nights in the jungle and visits to historical sites, he has found his place in this country, of which he is now a citizen and from which he will probably never leave 😉 Madly in love with Mexico in general, and the Yucatan Peninsula in particular, he’ll be happy to share his secrets with you, whether underground or above ground, in the company of his many friends from the local Maya communities.
Today, he has surrounded himself with an incredible team of experts who share his passion for this part of the world.
