It’s possible to discover 2 Mayan sites in a single day! We’ll visit 2 totally different Mayan archaeological sites, and take a refreshing swim in a beautiful cenote.
We’ll start with a visit to the archaeological site of Tulum as soon as it opens, so we can enjoy it before the crowds. Dating from the post-classical period and situated on the shore of the superb Caribbean Sea, this site is particularly well preserved, populated by numerous iguanas, with a postcard-perfect backdrop of turquoise water and white sand. Leaving Tulum, we’ll head into the jungle to visit the Coba site, dating from the classic period: a very different, grandiose and extensive site, which we’ll discover by bike or “mayan limo” in the shade of the beautiful tropical trees. Our official guide will explain all about the history of these sites and the Maya civilization. We’ll then have lunch in a restaurant serving typical regional dishes, before visiting a cavern-like cenote where we can cool off in the crystal-clear water.
