One night deep in the jungle, in hammocks, amidst preserved nature, far from civilization, for complete disconnection. An exceptional tour, just for you.
For this extraordinary experience, we take you to the heart of the Yucatan jungle to spend a night under the canopy and starry sky. The sounds of the forest, the sway of the hammock, the crackling of the campfire, everything here will transport you to the time of the first explorers of the Mayan world.
In this environment, animals tend to hide, which is why we have set up strategically placed camera traps along the route that we will check together to see the animals that passed by a few days or hours before us. We have already recorded numerous species including jaguars, pumas, ocelots, deer, peccaries, coatis, spider monkeys, armadillos, and many other species from the peninsula.

Difficulty
Intermediate/Expert: Good physical condition required.
As its name suggests, this tour is not a long-distance hike, but rather a simple walk through the jungle to discover the flora and fauna hidden within. The route will be approximately 5 km / 2.5 miles each day. This may seem easy, but remember that we are in the heart of the jungle, on rough terrain, with heat and humidity that slightly increase the difficulty of the trek.

PROGRAM
Day 1
We depart from the Riviera Maya towards a community where a complete breakfast awaits us before the trek. Then, we embark on our jungle hike, passing through 3 water points where we may encounter birds, frogs, turtles, and many other species. We will have a picnic along the way before reaching our campsite, where we will set up hammocks protected by mosquito nets for a magical night in the wilderness. Dinner over a wood fire prepared with the help of our Mayan friends and a nighttime walk around the camp will conclude a timeless day.
Day 2
The next day, awakened by bird songs and the morning freshness, we will have breakfast before packing up our camp. We will then begin the return hike to reach the village where a good meal awaits us at the family home of one of our guide-sherpas.

An eco-responsible tour
For this tour, we work with villagers from the nearby community. Several families are involved in this project: to provide the food for our meals, to cook part of our meals, and especially to help us carry the supplies to the campsite (water, food, hammocks, etc.). The purpose of this tour is to provide economic activity to the community members so that conservation efforts in this protected area can continue.
